Construction of 4 semi-detached houses comprising a total of 8 condominium units

Formerly occupied by a large private residence with swimming pool, this plot of land in the Ormet district is located just a few hundred meters from the EPFL and the University of Lausanne. The distinctive feature of this project was to take advantage of the new urban densification measures introduced by the Commune of Ecublens, by creating a residential development comprising 8 high-standard condominiums, spread over 4 buildings.

The entire development was built above an underground garage equipped with a single entrance, providing space for 17 cars.

This highlights the objective of having no above-ground vehicles, thereby favoring the greenery and tranquility of the site, with above-ground walkways allowing for pedestrian circulation in the heart of nature.

The concept for this residential development comprises 4 groups of houses with equivalent volumes. Each group comprises two duplex units with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the upper floor. The living areas on the ground floor are extended by a large terrace and garden. The basements, partially or completely excavated according to the clients’ choice, are directly linked to the underground car park.

The dissimilar morphology of the two groups of houses respects the peri-urban context of the neighborhood, notably through the strict choice of materials and colors used, as well as the sober and contemporary treatment of the facades.

Their layout and geometry offer dynamic perspectives, especially between the buildings themselves, but also from the Chemin de l'Ormet. Thus, they demonstrate a harmonious integration into the surrounding nature and context, all the while ensuring constant well-being and unrivalled tranquility for their inhabitants.
