Construction of a single-family home

Situated on the outskirts of the municipality of Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, in a commercial zone, this 3-storey single-family home is unique in that it offers a family living space on the ground and upper floors, while the semi-buried lower level is dedicated to the owners' commercial and administrative activities.

The ground floor, extended on its southern side by a veranda also serving as a terrace for the master bedroom upstairs, offers large, totally open-plan living areas consisting of the kitchen, dining room, and living room. An additional office and guest toilet complete this level.

The sleeping areas are located on the first floor, around a central staircase surrounded by concrete glass to increase the transparency required from top to bottom between the entrance to the house and the garden, which extends outwards from the veranda.

Another distinctive feature of this house, whose geometry expresses a cube, lies in the four pillars positioned at 45° to each other at the four corners of the building, providing the expression of support for the upper concrete canopy and where the rainwater downpipes of the curved gutter have been inserted.
