Construction of a single-family home

Situated in the heights of Sierre in the canton of Valais, this house is ideally located on a sloping plot with an exceptional panoramic view over the Rhône plain thanks to its south-facing orientation. The house is designed over three floors, with a garage, cellar, laundry room and technical room in the basement.

The ground floor comprises the daytime living area, while the first floor comprises the night-time area.

The concept for this house is based on symmetry with a core area centered on the ground floor to define the spaces without closing off the rooms, thus giving a feeling of spaciousness and openness.
This core cleverly serves the living room area with a simple bathroom on one side and the kitchen with a pantry on the other.

A staircase with a central stringer is installed opposite the core to create an area of separation between the two living areas. This staircase has been designed to become a veritable architectural sculpture, with paneled balustrades to maximize transparency and let in as much light as possible. A Japanese garden has been laid out to enliven this open-plan area, adding a touch of serenity and dynamism.

Upstairs, The first floor features a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, as well as 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. All 4 bedrooms have either a balcony to the south or a terrace to the north of the house.
